Mattresses

Mattresses are similar in construction to gabions but are larger in area and shorter in height (known as thickness for mattresses).

Mattresses are primarily used on slopes for erosion and scour protection.  They are laid with their diaphragms facing across the slope or across the direction of water flow so that they hold the mass of stone filling in place at regular intervals.

Intermesh mattresses are supplied flat packed for ease of transportation and storage.
